A vulnerability in the Fabric Interconnect KVM module of Cisco Unified Computing System could allow an unauthenticated, remote attacker to execute a man-in-the-middle attack.

The vulnerability is due to the virtual KVM sending video data unencrypted. An attacker could exploit this vulnerability by inserting a system in between the KVM server and the remote display. An exploit could allow the attacker to either sniff the traffic or insert themselves in the middle to observe, or modify, the video stream.

Cisco has confirmed the vulnerability in a security notice and released software updates.

To exploit this vulnerability, it is likely that an attacker would need access to trusted, internal networks to be positioned between the KVM server and a remote display. These conditions make it unlikely for an attacker to achieve a successful exploit.

Cisco indicates through the CVSS score that functional exploit code exists; however, the code is not known to be publicly available.
