Description

It was discovered that Sysstat incorrectly handled certain arithmetic multiplications. An attacker could use this issue to cause Sysstat to crash, resulting in a denial of service, or possibly execute arbitrary code. Update Instructions: Run sudo pro fix USN-5748-1 to fix the vulnerability. The problem can be corrected by updating your system to the following package versions: isag – 11.6.1-1ubuntu0.2 sysstat – 11.6.1-1ubuntu0.2 No subscription required

Mitigation

Users of affected products are strongly encouraged to follow the mitigations below.

The Cloud Foundry project recommends upgrading the following releases:

• Bionic Stemcells

  • Upgrade 1.x versions to 1.161 or greater
  • All other stemcells should be upgraded to the latest version available on bosh.io.

• cflinuxfs3

  • Upgrade all versions to 0.342.0 or greater

• Jammy Stemcells

  • Upgrade 1.x versions to 1.55 or greater
  • All other stemcells should be upgraded to the latest version available on bosh.io.

• CF Deployment

  • Upgrade all versions to 24.0.0 or greater, upgrade Jammy Stemcells to 1.55 or greater, and upgrade Bionic Stemcells to 1.161 or greater
