Description

USN-3885-1 fixed vulnerabilities in OpenSSH. It was discovered that the fix for CVE-2019-6111 turned out to be incomplete. This update fixes the problem.

Original advisory details:

Harry Sintonen discovered multiple issues in the OpenSSH scp utility. If a user or automated system were tricked into connecting to an untrusted server, a remote attacker could possibly use these issues to write to arbitrary files, change directory permissions, and spoof client output.

  • All other stemcells not listed.
• All versions of Cloud Foundry cflinuxfs2 prior to 1.273.0
• All versions of Cloud Foundry cflinuxfs3 prior to 0.67.0

Mitigation

Users of affected products are strongly encouraged to follow one of the mitigations below:

• The Cloud Foundry project recommends upgrading the following BOSH trusty-stemcells:
  • Upgrade 3586.x versions to 3586.91
  • Upgrade 3541.x versions to 3541.87
  • Upgrade 3468.x versions to 3468.104
  • Upgrade 3445.x versions to 3445.102
  • Upgrade 3421.x versions to 3421.119
  • All other stemcells should be upgraded to the latest version available on bosh.io.
• The Cloud Foundry project recommends upgrading the following BOSH xenial-stemcells:
  • Upgrade 250.x versions to 250.21
  • Upgrade 170.x versions to 170.39
  • Upgrade 97.x versions to 97.66
  • All other stemcells should be upgraded to the latest version available on bosh.io.
• The Cloud Foundry project recommends that Cloud Foundry deployments run with cflinuxfs2 version 1.273.0 or later.
• The Cloud Foundry project recommends that Cloud Foundry deployments run with cflinuxfs3 version 0.67.0 or later.
