Description

Chancen and Daniel Fiala discovered that OpenSSL incorrectly handled the c_rehash script. A local attacker could possibly use this issue to execute arbitrary commands when c_rehash is run. Update Instructions: Run sudo ua fix USN-5488-1 to fix the vulnerability. Mitigation

Users of affected products are strongly encouraged to follow the mitigations below.

The Cloud Foundry project recommends upgrading the following releases:

  • Bionic Stemcells
    • Upgrade 1.x versions to 1.91 or greater
    • All other stemcells should be upgraded to the latest version available on bosh.io.
  • cflinuxfs3
    • Upgrade all versions to 0.307.0 or greater
  • CF Deployment
    • Upgrade all versions to 21.4.0 or greater and upgrade Bionic Stemcells to 1.91 or greater
