Description

Pietro Borrello, Andreas Kogler, Martin Schwarzl, Daniel Gruss, Michael Schwarz and Moritz Lipp discovered that some Intel processors did not properly clear data between subsequent xAPIC MMIO reads. This could allow a local attacker to compromise SGX enclaves. Update Instructions: Run sudo ua fix USN-5612-1 to fix the vulnerability. The problem can be corrected by updating your system to the following package versions: intel-microcode – 3.20220809.0ubuntu0.20.04.1 No subscription required

The Cloud Foundry project recommends upgrading the following releases:

  • Bionic Stemcells
    • Upgrade 1.x versions to 1.107 or greater
    • All other stemcells should be upgraded to the latest version available on bosh.io.
  • CF Deployment
    • For all versions, upgrade Bionic Stemcells to 1.107 or greater
