Security Advisory Description

When the non-default configuration allowing remote SNMPv2 access is set, attackers may be able to access the BIG-IP system SNMPv2 service using a guessed community string. (CVE-1999-0517)

Note: This vulnerability does not affect SNMPv3.

Impact

When configured to allow remote SNMP access, attackers may be able to access SNMPv2 using a guessed community string, allowing SNMP access without authorization.
