Summary

Kubernetes’ apimachinery and apiserver are used by IBM Storage Fusion HCI to interact with the OpenShift platform. Vulnerabilities in these libraries include the possibility of unauthorized requests (server-side request forgery) and improper path traversal, as described the the CVEs listed in the “Vulnerability Details” section.

**DESCRIPTION:**Kubernetes kube-apiserver is vulnerable to server-side request forgery, caused by a flaw with allowing an aggregated API server to redirect client traffic to any URL. By sending a specially-crafted request, an attacker could exploit this vulnerability to conduct SSRF attack to unexpected actions and the client’s API server credentials to third parties.

CVEID:CVE-2022-3162
**DESCRIPTION:**Kubernetes kube-apiserver could allow a remote authenticated attacker to obtain sensitive information, caused by improper authorization. An attacker could exploit this vulnerability to read custom resources of a different kind in the same API group they are not authorized to read.
