**DESCRIPTION:**IBM Maximo Asset Management is vulnerable to an XML External Entity Injection (XXE) attack when processing XML data. A remote attacker could exploit this vulnerability to expose sensitive information or consume memory resources.

Affected Products and Versions

• To determine the core product version, log in and view System Information. The core product version is the “Tivoli’s process automation engine” version. Please consult the Product Coexistence Matrix for a list of supported product combinations.

Remediation/Fixes

Workarounds and Mitigations

There is a configuration in MIF that can stop these xml external entities from getting resolved
1. Go to System Properties application and create a new property mxe.int.resolvexmlextentity
2. Set the value for that property to 0
3. Live refresh the property value
