Summary

IBM Watson Speech Services Cartridge for IBM Cloud Pak for Data is vulnerable to a security restrictions bypass in OpenSSL, caused by AES-SIV cipher implementation [CVE-2023-2975]. OpenSSL is included as part of the packages used by our Speech Services runtimes. This vulnerabilitiy has been addressed. Please read the details for remediation below.

**DESCRIPTION:**OpenSSL could allow a remote attacker to bypass security restrictions, caused by AES-SIV cipher implementation. By sending a specially-crafted request using empty data entries as associated data, an attacker could exploit this vulnerability to bypass authentication validation.
