3.1 AFFECTED PRODUCTS

The following versions of SafeNet Sentinel LDK License Manager, are affected:

  • SafeNet Sentinel LDK License Manager, all versions prior to 7.101(only Microsoft Windows versions are affected)

3.2 VULNERABILITY OVERVIEW

3.2.1 IMPROPER LINK RESOLUTION BEFORE FILE ACCESS (‘LINK FOLLOWING’) CWE-59

The affected product is vulnerable when configured as a service. This vulnerability may allow an attacker with local access to create, write, and/or delete files in system folder using symbolic links, leading to a privilege escalation. This vulnerability could also be used by an attacker to execute a malicious DLL, which could impact the integrity and availability of the system.

CVE-2019-18232 has been assigned to this vulnerability. A CVSS v3 base score of 7.3 has been calculated; the CVSS vector string is (AV:L/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:L/I:H/A:H).

Thales recommends upgrading to Version 7.101 or later.
