Windows Update ImprovementsMicrosoft has released an update directly to the Windows Update client to improve reliability. Any device running Windows 10 configured to receive updates automatically from Windows Update, including Enterprise and Pro editions, will be offered the latest Windows 10 feature update based on device compatibility and Windows Update for Business deferral policy. This doesn’t apply to long-term servicing editions.

How to get this update

Deployment NotesFor customers using Windows Update offline scan file, Wsusscn2.cab, no new December scan cab will be issued. You will need to download the December 2018 WSUS scan cab and then manually download this KB from Microsoft Update Catalog to deploy. An updated scan file that includes this KB will be available in the next security release in January 2019.A Delta package for this update will not be available. Customers using Delta package updates need to apply the Full Update. Customers who do not apply the Full update, and only the December Delta package update from December 11, 2018 will experience an update failure when installing the January Delta Update. The January Full update will install correctly.
