Vulnerability Details:
This vulnerability allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code on affected installations of Cisco Data Center Network Manager. Although authentication is required to exploit this vulnerability, the existing authentication mechanism can be bypassed.
The specific flaw exists within the processing of requests to the getSystemData endpoint of the SystemFileDAO Data Access Object. When parsing the path parameter in the getFile method, the process does not properly validate a user-supplied path prior to using it in file operations. An attacker could leverage this vulnerability to disclose stored credentials, leading to further compromise.
