Dell EMC iDRAC is prone to an unauthorized-access vulnerability. Attackers can exploit this issue to gain unauthorized access and perform unauthorized actions. This may aid in further attacks. The following Dell products are affected: Dell EMC iDRAC8 versions prior to 2.70.70.70 are vulnerable. Dell EMC iDRAC9 versions prior to 3.36.36.36 are vulnerable.
Block external access at the network boundary, unless external parties require service.
If global access isn’t needed, filter access to the affected computer at the network boundary. Restricting access to only trusted computers and networks might greatly reduce the likelihood of successful exploits.
Deploy network intrusion detection systems to monitor network traffic for malicious activity.
Deploy NIDS to monitor network traffic for signs of anomalous or suspicious activity. This includes but is not limited unexplained incoming and outgoing traffic. This may indicate exploit attempts or activity that results from successful exploits.
Run all software as a nonprivileged user with minimal access rights.
To limit the impact of a successful exploit, run server software with the least privileges required and in restricted environments while still maintaining functionality.
