Microsoft Edge CSS Custom Property Type Confusion Information Disclosure Vulnerability

This vulnerability allows remote attackers to disclose sensitive information on vulnerable installations of Microsoft Edge. User interaction is required to exploit this vulnerability in that the target must visit a malicious page or open a malicious file. The specific flaw exists within the handling of custom properties in CSS. By manipulating a document’s elements, an attacker can trigger a type confusion condition. An attacker may be able to leverage this in conjunction with other vulnerabilities to execute code in the context of the current process.
